Event Details - Lake James Dragon Boat Race

ABOUT THE RACE: The Lake James Dragon Boat Festival is set to take place on October 5, 2024. It is a fun-filled event suitable for the whole family. This festival brings together local and regional teams that will compete against each other in various heats at Lake James State Park's Paddy's Creek Area in North Carolina. The event will start in the morning and end in the late afternoon.

Spectators are encouraged to come to the park with their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities. Admission is free!

The festival will have food vendors and music to keep everyone entertained all day long. Teams from all over the region will set up tents on the sandy shore to prepare for their turn in the water. Additionally, the ceremony will feature a moment of silence to honor the memory of those who have fought breast cancer. The survivor ceremony will involve placing a flower on a special cancer ribbon wreath.
